What are cables used for?

The most basic function of cable is to transmit power and signal (for example: optical fiber cable), transmit power to mechanical equipment, and transmit signal to automatic machinery for control.

Cables are widely used. There are different cables for different fields. Conventional cables include power cables, control cables, compensation cables, shielded cables, high-temperature cables, computer cables, signal cables, coaxial cables, fire-resistant cables, marine cables, mining cables, aluminum alloy cables, drag chain cables, reel cables, waterproof cables, etc. They are composed of single strand or multi strand conductors and insulating layers, which are used to transmit power and signal.
